I am Steven C. Staltare Sr and go by the artist known as just, Staltare. My story isn't an uncommon one. I found art as a means to cope with time in federal prison. To pass the time away, I started coloring mandalas. That led to hours spent creating amazing colorful art. I then progressed into drawings. When I was finally home, I couldn't wait to start painting. I took up acrylic painting on canvases and I was hooked. I began sketching and then painting the canvas art that I would dream up. Being a Pisces, I am very creative. I would write poems on a whim with just a thought. That led to writing stories and finishing up a children's book. So when I was able to draw and color and eventually paint, I knew I had a format to further express my thoughts and display my talents. Recently, I was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. This has led me to want to create as much as I can, as a way to relax and keep my brain active and to help battle my condition, while I still have the ability to create. I am a Father to three amazing children, who are my greatest creation and true work of arts. I am available to do commissioned pieces.
